About Fred Hollows

The Fred Hollows Foundation is an international eye health organisation that sees a world in which no person is needlessly blind or vision impaired. We work in more than 25 countries, as well as in Australia to help close the eye health gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

Right now, 4 out of 5 people who are blind don’t need to be. Yet, you can restore sight for as little as $25. Our priority is to work with communities to improve their own eye health. We do this through life-changing surgeries and treatments, training doctors and health workers, generating new ideas, and pushing for change at all levels. Together, we can ensure no person is left behind.

How it works?

Better That helps Good Causes raise funds to do good, for free.

With their give back guarantee, they make a donation (out of their pocket, not yours) for every item bought on Better That, and you get to choose where it goes!

Close the Gap in eye health

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are three times more likely to be blind than other Australians. Your support will contribute to closing the gap in eye health through high quality, affordable and culturally-appropriate care.

She Sees

There is no doubt that blindness discriminates. Women are 1.3 times more likely to be blind than men. Your support will contribute to gender equity for more than 120 million women who are visually impaired.

Ending Childhood Blindness

Three out of four children with blindness live in poverty. Your support will help restore sight to avoidably blind children around the world, giving them a chance for an education and a future.
